For Pink Days, we step inside Candice Johnson’s pastel-filled world to discover the pieces she’s loving right now. Known for her playful use of colour and texture, Candice shares how she brings personality into her home with considered, everyday styling. In this Q&A, she takes us through her favourite Ben David picks and how she uses them to create a space that feels both joyful and lived in.

What drew you to these Ben David pieces & what made them stand out to you?

"Absolutely the colours! I love collecting beautiful vases and I have developed a pretty good glass collection as well. The mix of the pink wine glasses with the amber tumblers is my favourite colour combination right now. When I saw those online I knew they would be the ideal addition to my collection."

How would you describe your home style, and how do these pieces fit into it?

"I would describe my home style as playful, pastel with a mid century twist. I tend to keep the walls neutral and focus on adding colour with homewares."

"Pieces like the bon bon vase add a little pop of colour and quirkyness, but I always make sure to have wood or brown around to ground the space."

How do you use colour and texture to create mood in your space?

"Colour in my home brings so much happiness. People get nervous about colour, but I think the key is making sure it’s balanced. I like to choose a few colours that play well together, and make sure I have used them across the room. If I have pink in a cushion, I will also make sure to have a vase, candle or throw with the same tone somewhere in the room. Texture is just as important. It brings softness and warmth to a room, you want to feel like you can come home and be cozy and relax."

Can you share how you’ve styled your favourite piece in your home?

I really like to layer or group things together. Mixing coffee table books, with candles and a vase is a favourite go to for styling. Sometimes one or two things on their own get lost, so grouping in threes with a colour palette that works together keeps everything connected

What’s your go-to tip for refreshing a space without a full makeover?

"Cushions, throws and vases! Just a few simple additions can change your home and give it a new personality in just a few minutes without breaking the bank. Plants and flowers also help to breathe life into a space, not to mention fabulous colour."

Which piece brings you the most joy right now, and why?

"I think it would have to be the bon bon vase, it’s such a show stopper! I feel like it represents my house well, a little unique, pops of pink and cute and playful."
